I tried folding along the dashed lines but nothing sensible came out. Then I split along the solid line, then folded along the dashed lines to reveal  letters from code 23 (left and right page). No words are accepted as correct.

I tried folding along the dashed lines but nothing sensible came out. Then I split along the solid line, then folded along the dashed lines to reveal  letters from code 23 (left and right page). No words are accepted as correct.

I think that the different lines denote different ways of folding, as in origami. After several attempts, I had messed everything up, but had a word that sounded Greek to me. It was missing a letter, but after inserting that letter, it was accepted. I still don't know where that letter should have come from, though, so I'm not sure that the way I ended up with the code was the right one.

I now tried it your way, cutting. You were right. The letter that I missed in my half-guessed solution is there. Face meets palm...
Anyway, that means that you're on the right track and should be able to see the code.
