The root of the problem

I have found the root.  but what do I apply it to?  Nothing I do makes sense

In case you're still stuck here: Rolytic asked how to get the required number of letters from three. Isn't that obvious how to do that?

I have been away for a while.  Wasn't sure if it was half of the instruction or rearrange what you said

You've got to take half of what you initially found. That will point you somewhere. You'll have to rearrange that. It'll have the required number of letters.

This leads to instruction 6, rearrange half

This means to rearrange the instruction at 3 (half of six and rather silly logic imho)

Hopefully you will get a thirteen letter word ( relates to butterflies )
